Its good that you all are promoting domestic tourism in northern areas by coming to our place BUT pls keep in mind a few things while traveling to GB.
1. Pls drive carefully, within the speed limit and in your lane. Idk how to emphasize it enough for you to actually get it. Every year many tourists die due to rash driving. It’s so disheartening to see people come here to spend quality time with their friends and family but leave with coffins.
2. Before traveling, do some basic research about the culture of the area you are traveling to. This is especially true for Hunza. Here in Hunza women work alongside men in the fields, outside. You will be seeing women outside in marketplaces, workplaces, and in the fields. That doesn’t mean you can gaze at them, hoot at them or harass them. We, the locals cannot walk on the roads or go to markets due to some ill-mannered tourists who think it’s their right to harass women seen outside.
3. Pls learn some basic manners regarding tourism. If you are traveling to a place as a tourist, it’s your moral responsibility to be as environment conscious as the locals. I have seen people camping in my garden and leaving tons of trash behind. Be responsible and before leaving, clean the area and don’t leave your trash behind for some local to pick it up.
4. Be kind. Have fun but not at the cost of the lives of people living here. Being a tourist comes with a lot of responsibility so learn some manners and lastly, enjoy your trip.
